Choosing Health Partnership Board

Through the membership of the Choosing Health Partnership Board, Kingston Voluntary Action is contributing to a multi-agency collaborative approach to:

  • Identify priority areas of inequality that need to be addressed in Kingston.
  • Advise the local authority, commissioners and stakeholders on inequalities affecting health within the local population
  • Ensure any strategies produced by partner organisations address these inequalities and are reflected in their work programmes.
  • Report to the Health and Wellbeing Board

Actions of this board are relevant to the six key priorities set out in the Choosing Health White Paper: health inequalities; reducing the numbers of people who smoke; tackling obesity; improving sexual health; improving mental health and well being, and reducing harm and encouraging sensible drinking.

The underpinning principles behind the Choosing Health agenda are to ensure there is informed choice for all, personalisation of support to make healthy choices, and, that working in partnership is essential to make health everyone's business.
