Kingston Infrastructure, Support & Development Project
KVA has been funded by the BIG Lottery Fund BASIS Programme (Building and Sustaining Infrastructure Services) for three years 2009-2012 to establish and develop the Kingston Infrastructure Support and Development Project.
The main aim of the Project is to enable Kingston Voluntary Action to develop, support and sustain infrastructure services for voluntary and community organisations. Our key objectives are to sustain and further develop Kingston Voluntary Action as the key infrastructure centre for information, communication and training.
We will do this by:
- Developing our information resources such as e-bulletins, newsletters, the development of baseline data
- Developing new and existing networks and forums which will support and develop shared learning, information and knowledge exchange, joint planning and partnership working
- Providing capacity building and training for voluntary and community organisations and individuals in the borough by reviewing, supporting and developing the role of Community Development Workers through workforce development and by training and development of Management Committees
- Asissting voluntary and community groups to develop their own communications
Sanja Kane, Workforce Development and Training Co-ordinator leds on the training and governance aspects of this project. Justine Harvey, Information and Communications Co-ordinator leads on the communications, KVA's information resources and networks parts.
