Welcome to KVA’s Website

We are the umbrella body for voluntary and community organisations in the outer London Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

Our main role is to strengthen voluntary and community activity in the Borough.

We do this by developing and supporting organisations so they can deliver better services to the local community, particularly those that are disadvantaged.

Please use the links on the left to find out about the wide range of advice and services we provide, or alternatively, contact us at:

Position Statement on the Local Involvement Network for Kingston.  Kingston’s LINk

Kingston Voluntary Action hosted the first meeting of the new Kingston’s LINk Steering Group that took place on 3rd February at the Kingston’s LINk office.

We are delighted to say that the Steering Group is formed of a membership that brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the LINk; we believe this will be of enormous benefit to the LINk members.

Hilary Garner, the KVA Chief Executive chaired the first meeting and lengthy discussions ensued at the meeting, about essential local Health and Social Care issues that will form the basis for their work plans. The Steering Group members have made nominations to establish some key working groups to take the work forward. This will include urgent current issues for the local area; and ensuring there is the correct level of LINk representation on the various key Strategic bodies.  Although KVA is the Host Agency to support the LINk we are keen to say that the LINk work is independent of any statutory body and is there to reflect the views of local people.

A Chair and Vice Chair were duly elected by Steering Group members at the meeting. The newly elected Chair of Kingston’s LINk is Sandra Berry; and the Vice Chair is Theo Harris.

Kingston Voluntary Action would like to extend our congratulations to the new Chair and Vice Chair and we look forward to working together with them to strengthen relationships with all stakeholders to support Kingston’s LINk.
