Kingston Voluntary Action, promoting quality in partnership

Brokerage Consortium
January 2010

Kingston Centre for Independent Living (KCIL) has created an innovative new Brokerage Support project; funded by the local authority and supported by a consortium of voluntary sector members, including KVA. In line with the Transforming Social Care and Personalisation agenda, the project will promote, develop and regulate support planning and brokerage services for Individual Budget holders in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

A Development Worker has been appointed by KCIL to gather knowledge of what could be developed with Kingston service providers as well as looking at what is happening with Support Brokerage in other places.

The KCIL Brokerage Development Worker will be contacting people in the near future to:

  • Let people know about the Brokerage service and what we are trying to do.
  • Find out what services organisations provide
  • Are they aware of brokerage for individual budgets?
  • Do they already provide any sort of brokerage services?
  • Would they be interested in being brokers for personal budget holder?

For more information about this service you can contact Fernanda Matus,
Project Development Worker at KCIL. 020 8481 1442
