Rose Theatre launches Our Town: a Kingston Story
A Commuinty Play for and about the people of Kingston

 

The Rose Theatre is looking to enhance its reputation is not just being a theatre, but being a real part of the local community with its upcoming production Our Town: a Kingston Story.

The play will be a devised piece, drawing on local people’s memories of the past, experiences of the present and dreams of the future. The piece will celebrate the twon, but also lots of opportunities to get involved including contributing ot the story, acting, making costumes and painting sets.

Everyone is welcome to attend the launch of the Community Play on Tuesday 27  July from 1-2pm at the Rose with Stephen Unwin, Artistic Director and Jamie Harper, director of Our Town: A Kingston Story. Representatives from the marketing and production team will also be present to talk to you about the many ways you can become involved.

Acting
If you are aged 16 or over and you would like to be a part of the action onstage, simply download an application form on the Rose Theatre website and e-mail it to jamieh@rosetheatrekingston.org. No previous drama experience is necessary. We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, committed and willing to challenge themselves.

Behind the Scenes
Become an important part in producing the play. We have volunteering opportunities in the following areas available: marketing, wardrobe, stage management, technical and wigs. We are also looking for a photographer and an artist in residence to document the production from page to stage.
