Business Planning

Who Should Attend: Those who need to develop skills and confidence in developing a business plan for their organisation.

Course Overview: Business planning is core activity required for an organisation’s sustainability, especially in today’s changing funding environment. It is critical in the achievement of business objectives and hitting targets.  Many organisations are daunted by the concept; this course will help you understand how to go about developing a plan through a structured process resulting in a useful document.

Objectives:

  • To provide an overview of business planning
  • To explore the steps to developing an effective plan
  • To gain guidance in structuring a plan
  • To identify how to develop milestones and indicators to track progress
  • To look at other plans and learn from good practice
  • To leave with an action plan

Trainer: Ian Beever is a consultant, facilitator and trainer working with the public, voluntary and private sector, specialising in policy relating to local Government, strategic partnerships, health, social care and community engagement. Ian also lectures on health and social care policy on the MSc Rehabilitation programme at St. George’s Hospital in Tooting for UCL & Kingston University.

Course Fee: £40 for Voluntary and Community Organisations. £65 for other organisations.
