Writing Budgets for Funding Applications

Who Should Attend: Staff and trustees who are involved in preparing and writing budgets for funders.

Course Overview: Are you good with words when writing funding applications, but struggle with the figures? If so, this is the right course for you. Make your budgets for funders look professional and practice writing them in record time. The course will cover:

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Resources : such as Direct Labour, Direct Materials, Premises, Staff

  • Income and expenditure : A cash flow of the entire project activity, including Capital Expenditure.

  • Hidden and understated costs : Such as Direct and Indirect Overheads, VAT, Taxation, Management Costs, Professional Fees, Training Fees etc.

  • Full cost recovery : The recharges to core from all departments/projects

 

Trainer: Mafaz Ansari is the Community Accountancy Adviser for Richmond , Kingston and Hounslow. Mafaz has been working in the voluntary sector and supporting voluntary and community organisations with financial management through training and advice for over 3 years. Mafaz ha s a degree in Accounting and Business Management and is on her way to become a fully qualified Charted Accountant.

Assessment and Certification: A certificate of attendance will be issued to all participants.

Course Fee: £20 for Voluntary and Community Organisations. £35 for other organisations.
