CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Date: Wednesday,12th May 2010

Time: 10.00 am – 4.30 pm

Venue: Access Learning Centre, tbc  

Who Should Attend: All employees, volunteers, senior managers, trustees and support staff.

Course Overview: This course provides participants with training in the basics of health and safety. Full course notes will be provided. At the end of the day there is a short, straightforward, multiple-choice test.


This is an accredited course that will cover: the principles of accident prevention; how risk assessment can prevent accident and ill health; risk associated with manual handling; the nature and risks of hazardous substances; how workplace equipment and task design can affect health and safety; potential effects of exposure to noise and vibration.

Depending on the profile of the participants and the nature of the services attending organisations deliver, the trainer will adjust the way the course is presented to make it more relevant to your needs.

Assessment and Certification: On successful completion of the test, participants will be awarded a Charted Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Qualification – Level 2 Award.

Course Fee: £40 for Voluntary and Community Organisations. £65 for other organisations.
