Recruitment and Induction of Trustees

Who Should Attend: This workshop is for for trustees/management committee members mainly, but managers and other staff are also welcome.

Course Overview: Good quality trustees are like gold dust and attracting them to our committee is not an easy job.  This short workshop will help you consider if you are ready for new trustees, suggest where to look for them and make sure you are doing everything you should to welcome them to your organisation.

Topics covered will include:

• Skills audit – knowing who you are looking for
• What you can and cannot do: Trustee eligibility
• Where to advertise when looking for trustees  
• Describing the role of the trustee
• Planning an induction and putting together an induction pack
• Meet a brand new local trustee!

Things you will take back to your organisation after the workshop: a sample trustee declaration of eligibility, a sample trustee role description, induction programme planner and induction pack checklist.
