Digital Storytelling

Superhighways recently attended a Digital Story Telling seminar led by Sounddelivery.

A digital story (also known as an audio slideshow) is an extremely effective way for an organisation to showcase their work. It is also much easier to get a professional end product compared to putting together your own video. In essence, you use a series of images/photos and add an accompanying soundtrack with voiceovers, music, background noise as appropriate. It can also be used as an alternative to PowerPoint too.

How could you use this technique with your organisation?

  • Illustrating impact to funder
  • Attracting new volunteers
  • Engaging with additional communities

Here are some tools which can help you put together a digital story:

Picnik

Photoshop Express online

Microsoft Photo Editor (find in the Microsoft Office Tools folder on a Windows PC)

Gimp
